A guided tour in Florence to learn about the history and works of the great master Donatello!
A guided tour to discover Donatello, a Renaissance genius and essential artist for the history of art in Florence.
Our tour will start from the famous Medici church of San Lorenzo where we’ll visit the Old Sacristy and the artist’s tomb.
Then we’ll move to the Bargello museum, a place that collects most of the artist’s works: two Davids, the Marzocco, and the statue of San Giorgio.
Once the visit to the museum is over, we’ll cross the famous via dei Calzaiuoli and pass in front of the church of Orsanmichele where we can admire the copies of the statue of San Marco and San Giorgio.
Our guided tour will end in Piazza Signoria where we will find a copy of the statue of “Judith and Holofernes“, made by Donatello for Cosimo the Elder: the original is located inside Palazzo Vecchio, one of the most famous buildings in Florence.
